Neighborhood Information
Northeast Philadelphia is home to over 400,000 Philadelphians, most of whom are "middle-class". You'll be able to choose from apartment communities, townhomes and detached rental homes. The Northeast consists of two major sections, the Far Northeast and the Near Northeast. Far Northeast neighborhoods include Bustleton, Byberry, Upper Holmesburg, Pennypack, and Torresdale. The Near Northeast is home to these neighborhoods: Foxchase, Frankford, Holmesburg, Lawndale, Lexington, Mayfair, Oxford Circle, Tacony and Wissinoming.
Although the Northeast is primarily residential, there are many conveniences including many strip malls and numerous shopping centers. Public transportation, the Roosevelt Boulevard and I-95, which all run through this area of the city, connect the Northeast with Center City.
