The City of Trenton, population 85,403 is the county seat of Mercer County. It is located east of the Pennsylvania state line along Highway 31, on the banks of the Delaware River. Trenton is the New Jersey capital, 30 miles from Philadelphia and 55 miles from New York City. Trenton's proximity to New York and Philadelphia make it an important distribution center, and it is undergoing renovation to become a popular tourist destination as well. Trenton is also home to Thomas Edison State College and Mercer County Community College. Renter-occupied housing units is 47% of total housing.
